I don’t often go out on the moor in a wheelchair. I haven’t an off road chair or an accessible car. So I’m actually crouching by a Car for most of my photos or even lying down after walking five metres. But I met Steve in his wheelchair on Whitchurch down today he got in the car, I got in his chair, fellow disabled people will know the logistics of such a situation. So yes very briefly I saw the moor from a wheelchair, was too rare not to take a picture 🙂!

Weir Quay today on the lovely banks of the Tamar, West Devon. The Bere Peninsula below Tavistock comprises land on both the Tavy & Tamar rivers. Today a vulture, falcon and hawk all visited me in my garden, really !
It was part of Steve’s Christmas present to me.
I’m too unwell to attend westcountry falconry’s displays so he kindly brought three birds to me. I had the pleasure of meeting a Lanner falcon, a Turkey vulture and a Harris hawk.

Historically, moss (not this species), was collected across Dartmoor in WW1 ‘moss drives’, to be used in wound dressings.
